Individuals who did not renew their apprentice certification, funeral establishment, funeral director, embalmer, cremationist, or practical embalmer license by October 31, 2020 is considered lapsed. The establishment, funeral director, embalmer, cremationist, or apprentice must CEASE and DESIST all operations and/or practice. To have a license or certification reactivated, individuals must complete an application for license/certification, pay back fees, penalties, submit a background check application including fingerprint cards and go before the Board for reactivation. The licensee must meet the CURRENT REQUIREMENTS for licensure. Checklists and applications are available on the Board’s website at www.fsb.alabama.gov via “forms”.
